The City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to participate in the next Computer, Electronics and Metal Recycling Day at the Acworth Sports Complex off of South Main Street. This event occurs twice a year, on a Saturday, during May and November from 9 am to 3 pm. The next Recycling Day will take place on November 5, 2016.
Most all materials made primarily of metal will be accepted, from aluminum cans to electronic items, even something as large as a washing machine will be recycled. The city along with Federal Recyclers wants you to Think Green! Look around your house for any unwanted items that you can bring to recycle so they do not end up in a landfill.
If it’s made of metal or you can plug it in, they can recycle it. Don’t let those items you have collected end up in the landfill. Old barbecue grills, lawn mowers, metal patio furniture, car parts, old bicycles, gutters, metal siding, metal fencing, exercise equipment can all be recycled.
All metal and electronics recycling is free, except for fees for the following items:
- Pints and spray cans are $1
- Quarts are $2 each
- 1 gallon cans are $4 each
- 2 gallon cans are $6 each
- 5 gallon cans are $10 each
- TVs are $20 regardless of size
- Monitors are $15 regardless of size
Please leave labels on paint cans because some paints are hazardous waste and need to be separated for controlled recycling.
